As the days tick closer to the September 21-23 RE:MIKE event, opportunities grow for the MIX community to become involved with this exciting project.

Re:MIKE is a project to celebrate the past, present and future of the St. Michael’s Drive corridor and surrounding neighborhoods. The initiative is a joint project between MIX, The City of Santa Fe, The Chamber of Commerce, The Santa Fe Art Institute, The Story of Place Institute, Creative Santa Fe and other public and private collaborators.

This week, a new website, Viva Santa Fe, provides information on the project, as well as numerous places to provide ideas and input. Some of the current topics and questions on the site include:

• What’s the most significant change you’d like to see on St. Michael’s Dirve in the next 10 years?

• What neighborhood qualities near St. Michael’s Drive are most important to preserve and protect?

• What are ways to make St. Michael’s Drive attractive to students and businesses?

New questions and topics be regularly posted and it’s easy to connect through a Facebook account.

The RE:MIKE project kicks off the Sept. 21-23 weekend with a festival-style weekend of events including public art projects, lectures, pop-up businesses and more.

Be sure to connect with the Viva Santa Fe site to stay in the loop. You can also contribute your stories of St. Michael’s Drive, apply to be a pop-up business at the event or contribute your time.
