Cabinet Secretary for Taxation and Revenue Department Stephanie Schardin Clarke

Stephanie Schardin Clarke has more than 15 years of experience working in New Mexico state and local government administration. She served as deputy secretary for the Department of Finance and Administration, where she oversaw the agency’s internal administration and was a member of several state policymaking boards and councils. Schardin Clarke also previously served as director of the State Board of Finance, Economist for both the Legislative Finance Committee and the Department of Finance and Administration, and finance director for Santa Fe County. She brings a wealth of financial knowledge of New Mexico spanning taxation, revenue, economics, audit, procurement, capital funding, legislative process, rulemaking, and more. Schardin Clarke holds a bachelor’s in economics from the George Washington University and a master’s in economics from the University of New Mexico.

Aysha Mora, Director of the Audit and Compliance Division

Aysha Mora was appointed director of the Audit and Compliance Division in April 2019. Aysha has 13 years combined experience within the Taxation and Revenue Department in both audit and Information Technology. Outside of TRD, Aysha has been the chief information officer of the Office of the State Engineer, as well as an auditor and IT engineer in the private sector. Aysha holds a master’s degree in Management Information Systems and a bachelor’s of science degree in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix, as well as an associate’s degree in Applied Science, Manufacturing and Electronics Technology from Albuquerque TVI.
