September is Santa Fe’s sexiest season—the sear of summer has slipped away, the scent of chile scintillates the senses and––as tourists taper off––locals are lured out to live large.
And, of course, a stupendous stable of start-ups steamrolls out of the bizMIX business plan competition.
Join MIX, Mayor Alan Webber, Homewise CEO Mike Loftin, CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center, and all our spectacular bizMIX sponsors in celebrating the success of these sensational new businesses, revealing the cash prize winners, and sowing the seeds of the city’s entrepreneurial future.
The setting is the remarkable Reunity Resources world headquarters at the revamped Santa Fe Community Farm at San Ysidro Crossing. Reunity Resources is an alum from the inaugural bizMIX competition and current Santa Fe Community Foundation Visionary Award winner. You’ll get an up close look at its incredible operation producing fresh fruits and vegetables, generating compost, and fighting food waste and hunger in Northern New Mexico.
Wear your farm shoes, prime your palate, and come prepared to be charmed and bedazzled by delicious Daya boxes from Chef Marianne Sundquist, harvested fresh from the field you’ll find your feet on.
Speaking of sampling the harvest, Santa Fe Spirits will be serving from its on-the-spot speakeasy, including a signature cocktail made with Reunity Resources cider, apple brandy and locally brewed ginger beer. As always, fill out the quick survey (https://mixsantafe.com/survey) and your first drink is freebie.
Vinyl, both right off the vine and vintage, will be dervishing on the decks, courtesy of Yosem, aka urban upcycler Jo Stodgel.
A sultry September evening on a ridiculously righteous farm with a bandolier of new businesses to boot? We’ll see you there.
