February at La Fonda means a frickin’ fantastic MIX to the Future.

Five years ago this week, MIX as we know it launched at La Fonda on the Plaza with a packed event in the shadow of Santa Fe’s famous cathedral.

This month, we’re reviving that radical, rambunctious lift-off, remembering our roots and rolling out the the rest of the decade with the plans, projects and premonitions that are produced with your input, attitude and ideas.

Meet us in the La Terrazza room on the east side of the hotel–which is under brilliant new ownership–and don’t dally, because…

The last culinary cornucopia laid out by La Fonda is legendary, but this time, they’re outdoing themselves. Courtesy of the hotel’s La Plazuela restaurant, you’ll get gratis grub that would make Greek gods green with envy: New Mexico lamb chops with caramelized red onion jam, mini fried chicken & waffles, grilled New Mexico beef tenderloin brushed with a red miso glaze and, um, a crunchy tart with creamy red pepper polenta and grilled veggies for our meatless MIXers.

Damn. That is a spread.

As always, filling out our survey online in advance of the event or at the door, will earn you a free drink. This month, Rotary of Santa Fe will pop for a Rotary Bellringer Margarita–putting a dash of do-gooder into the BellTower bar’s signature drink. Should you deign to desire a different drink, the multiple fully stocked cash bars will make short work of your thirst. You can do the survey at http://MIXSantaFe.com/survey

Five years ago, DJ Prairie Dog inaugurated MIX and this month he’s back to lay down classic crooning country, relaxed Rockabilly and hardcore trance. Or, you know, it could happen.

Ace photographer Kate Russell will project the Santa Fe she’s captured in the past few years and a mind boggling projection will hammer out the history of Harvey House hotels (like La Fonda and Las Vegas, New Mexico’s Castaneda)

Speaking of photographic talent, Caitlin Elizabeth Photography will be running a ripping photo booth, so put down the selfie stick and dress like someone else is going to take your picture for once.

Of course, that ain’t exactly all–we’ll be revealing a fancy award that MIX has won because your participation is so profound AND we’ll be launching Game The System, a way to get rewarded for getting involved and to shape the city you want with funding for serious projects.

First things first, we are gonna have a real good time. See you there.

Parking in the hotel lot is $2.50 per hour, but goes to hotel guests first, FYI.
